Setting...
Since its early days as a stagecoach stop, Banning has displayed a
pioneer resilience that contributes to the modern day City’s “can do” spirit and
traditional values. In those early years, and continuing today, Banning
straddles the major transportation artery between Los Angeles, Phoenix, and the
southwestern United States. An easy commute to Inland Empire cities, including
Palm Springs resorts, enhances Banning’s appeal to business and residents.
BANNING
Business Opportunities
With a central location, excellent freeway access to Los Angeles, San
Diego, the Inland Empire or points East, the City of Banning is strategically
positioned for commercial and industrial businesses. Banning also has in place
a redevelopment project area that includes prime commercial and industrial
sites. The city maintains a strong collaborative partnership with regional
economic development groups, such as PassEDA, who aggressively work with the
existing business community and recruit new commercial and industrial
businesses. These efforts are successful in strengthening the local economic
base.
Industrial Sites
There are approximately 1,157 acres in the city limits zoned for light to
heavy manufacturing.
About 75% are vacant and available in parcels ranging in size from 1/2 to 100
plus acres. Included in this acreage are four industrial parks or districts.
Typical sale prices range from $10,000 to $50,000 per acre. The terrain is level
to gently sloping with good natural drainage. Because the subsoil is sand and
gravel spread footings are commonly all that is required for building
construction avoiding the need for other more costly foundation types. Sizes of
water mains range from 6 to 14 inches. Sewer lines are from 8 to 16 inches.
There are approximately 50 acres on the western edge of the city along the south
side of the Union Pacific tracks and I-10 that are designated for future
industrial use.
